**SPOILER ALERT**
If you haven't seen the show, but plan to, you may not want to read further. Won't ruin the series, but may remove some of the surprise or mystery behind some of the characters.

The train of thought that interests me most is the idea of the Wesen people. Is it possible that there truly are people out there, walking around with us, who have an alter personality or character trait just underneath their skin? Something that only others with that same genetic disposition can see? The Wesen change , or woge (/volg/), into their animal/moster counterpart when the have strong surges of emotion. Anger, fear, sadness, surprise, etc. They shake their head a bit and then WHAM -t here they are. But normal humans can't see the change. Only other Wesen. This is Monroe - normal and woged out. He's some sort of wolf creature, obviously. Its called a Blutbad. /bloot-bot/
Take a person with issues being timid and shy. Is it at all possible that deep within their genetic make-up, they have strains of a mouse or some other quiet animal? Or someone who is sneaky and slick. Could they be a snake right beneath their visible skin? Or say you know someone who is somewhat flighty and always on the go. Could they be a bird, perhaps? Or that person who talks incessantly all the time. Fly or gnat possibly?
Yes, I realize this is crazy. Way out there, what-have-you-been-drinking (and where can I get some!) out there. I promise you I have not been drinking and am not on any recreational substance. I just have a HUGE imagination. As a super creative soul, I think its necessary to think outside your normal box. Think of weird things that challenge your mind and cause you to re-think what you thought you already knew. How would you defend your position on Wesen if you were to be challenged on your beliefs? If someone said "What the WHAT? How can you think like this?" What would you say? What would you use as proof?
Its oddly a lot like being a Christian - In a weird sort of way. Others can't see it on the outside. On our physical outside. But they sure can see it when we're pressed into action. When something doesn't go our way, doesn't matter what one looks like on the outside - its our actions and behavior that tells who we really are. How do you react when you're challenged on something? Do you turn into a timid mouse or a raging bull? Do you get flighty like a bird and flutter away? What about when someone asks you about your faith in God? What sort of Wesen do you become? I have no idea what I am either. But I'll be thinking about it now each time I watch the show. I am a Christian, I will tell you that. And I've had instances where my faith was questioned by others. I may not have been a wise owl or roaring lion, but maybe that's something for me to shoot for.
I truly didn't mean to get all theological on this thread. Who would have ever thought my faith in God would have anything at all remotely in common with the show Grimm! Like I said - my imagination is WAAAAAAY out there. Its typically a little difficult for me to control. And you know what? I'm ok with that.
